Nana Yaw Asamoah Boateng – The youth ambassador for Ghana Road Safety Commission
The youth ambassador for Ghana Road Safety Commission, Nana Yaw Asamoah Boateng has raised his sentiments about the attitude of Ghanaians especially the media, politicians and opinion leaders on road safety cases in recent times.
According to him, the media, politicians and opinion leaders devote little or no attention to road safety cases in Ghana; which he sees as unprofessional.
‘A lot of lives have been perished through road accident. My headache is the media. When an accident happens, they just spend few days to talk about it but spend ample time on trivial matters’ he laments.
‘it is about time the media and the aforementioned bodies start creating massive awareness about road safety’
He added that, careless driving, the abuse of drugs such as tramadol, weed etc are some of the rampant cause of road accidents in recent times.
He has there cautioned drivers to desist from attitudes and conducts that can breed to road accident.
